I had not run Windows and Parallels for a while. I determined that Parallels12 was most compatible. Parallels 12 installed easily with no issues. I have used Parallels since it replaced Connectix Virtual PC and it is a great tool, getting better with each release.
I had Parallels 5 running on Mac OS It was incredible. I could run Mac OS simultaneously with Windows 7. Everything worked great. But since the computer companies are forcing everyone to downgrade to a newer OS I eventually had to get a newer computer to run the latest OS or risk not having any ability to run my business since systematically each web browser and software program was being forcibly retired to where it would not work, or not work with websites needed changing the OS on my existing hardware was not an option.
Parallels gives you version 13 even though the box says Everything installed and the Mac migration assistant made the transition to a new computer as easy as it could be. My old Windows was there as if by magic. However it is ridiculously slow. So slow that Windows boots but you can’t run any Windows programs and while Parallels is running the Mac works so slow that you get constant “spinning beach balls.
I needed to reset my network to be bridged WiFi so my virtual machine would be on the same network as my printers and be able to see them. Then I needed to turn off automatic sharing of my Mac printers with my virtual machine or else the virtual machine will keep trying to install bogus versions of those printers that won’t work because of the WiFi issue. It would be nice if the installation somehow helped with this issue if you have WiFi printers.

Then my virtual machine found the printer directly.
